How do you treat yourself, physically, mentally, and even spiritually? Do you treat yourself with kindness, respect, love, compassion, and reverence? Or are you an expert at negative ‘self-talk’? Do you practice self-care or do you spend all your energy taking care of others? Do you forgive yourself or harbor self-grudges? Isn’t it time to treat ourselves like we would treat our children, close friends and family?
Do you know that we experience 50,000-60,000 thoughts a day? Can you imagine, if even a fraction of those thoughts are negative, how it can damage our self? What percentage of your thoughts are actually serving you? We all participate in the negative ‘self-talk’; it’s part of being human. But when it overtakes our mind and prohibits us from practicing self-kindness, self-respect, self-love and self-compassion it can affect us physically and mentally. Living your best life becomes impossible.
As humans we tend to ‘reward’ ourselves for a job well done. And that reward usually comes in an external form like buying something for ourselves that we feel we deserve. What if we shifted our definition of ‘reward’? What if our daily reward is kindness to ourselves? What if it’s a little self-care? How about taking the time to do something that you enjoy like reading a good book with a hot cup of tea and a lighted candle?
Giving your mind unfiltered control over your thoughts is only giving away the master key to the kingdom, YOUR kingdom. Take control back by flipping the script!

Notice when you go down the negative path and switch to a positive affirmation. This takes practice but it will become easier. Set a timer on your phone, daily, for a few set times. Stop and see where your mind is and flip the script if necessary.
